Appendix B1: Colonel Specifics
Specialist
Mission Cycle for Colonel rank
The specialist missions for Colonel rank follows the cycle as shown below.
To find out the correct sequence number for the corresponding details of a specific specialist mission, use the formula (Specialist Mission Number) % 80.
- The % symbol means modulo. This means take the Specialist Mission Number, divide it by 80 and take the remainder as the answer.
- For example, if the mission number is #3347, then the sequence number is 67. (3347 ÷ 80 = 41 with a remainder of 67)

With the list of all specialist missions and the corresponding ships that appear, you can upgrade these 19 ships to attempt all specialist missions in Colonel quite comfortably.
- Note that there will be weapon affinity mismatches so you may not always be able to complete some specialist missions.
- However, you could at least get a decent number of credits by bringing a well upgraded ship into the specialist mission.
- As you may have already upgraded some ships (either by doing it yourself or through the Warp Gate
), refer to Appendix C for the most economical approach. However, heads-up, as the steps needed for such an approach can be quite technical and cumbersome.
- Note that there are several solutions, meaning you can choose between upgrading a few different sets of 19 ships to cover all specialist missions quite comfortably. For the sake of convenience, I did my best to select the most suitable set of 19 ships to upgrade based on their survivability ratings.
- It is also possible to use the set of 19 ships detailed in Appendix B2 (for Major
) or B3 (for Commander
) instead to cover all specialist missions for Colonel
. This is due to how similar the selection of ships are for the specialist mission cycles for all gold ranks
. However, I picked the best ships in terms of survivability for each rank.
- It is also possible to use the set of 19 ships detailed in Appendix B2 (for Major
